Zippy Aima, Cesar Bachelet join ABI Research

ABI Research recently announced the addition of two analysts to its global market research team. Zippy Aima has joined as Industry Analyst, Digital Media, and is based in San Antonio, TX, USA. Cesar Bachelet has joined as Senior Analyst, Multi-Channel Video. He is based in London.

Ms. Aima, as Industry Analyst, Digital Media, concentrates her research efforts on digital media markets including content protection, DRM, digital media storage, and digital asset management.

“Zippy Aima’s strong background in content protection and digital rights management will help strengthen our strong portfolio in the digital media,” said research director Michael Wolf. “I am very excited to have someone with Zippy’s background on our team.”

Her prior experience has equipped her well for these subjects: as an information technology Research Analyst at Frost & Sullivan she spent three years conducting in-depth analysis of digital media markets, including leadership roles in consulting projects. She also conducted ebroadcasts and webinars. Previous posts included an HR post at Shoppers' Stop Ltd, and a position as Employee Relations Executive with IT system integrator Samtech InfoNet Ltd, where she handled recruitment, personnel management, performance management and training.

She holds an MBA in HR and IT from the Institute of Management Studies & Research, Maharishi Dayanand University (India).

Cesar Bachelet

Mr. Bachelet serves as ABI Research’s lead analyst covering global multi-channel video markets, including pay-TV technology platforms, operator strategies, and services delivered over cable TV, satellite, digital terrestrial, and IPTV networks. He brings to the role 18 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry.

Prior to joining ABI Research, Mr. Bachelet was a consultant with Understanding & Solutions, where he focused on the digital distribution of video content over broadband, cable, and satellite networks. Previously, he served for three years at Ovum, ultimately in the position of Senior Analyst, researching the global consumer fixed voice and broadband markets and providing strategic advice to leading operators throughout the world. Prior to his time at Ovum, Mr. Bachelet spent 14 years with BT, where he held a range of positions, including that of Competitor Analyst within the Consumer Division (now BT Retail).

Mr. Bachelet has presented and moderated sessions at a number of conferences, including the Computerworld Forum for Broadband Services in Warsaw, the Total Telecom World Telecommunications Congress and the FMC & Quad Play World Congress, both held in Amsterdam, and the TV Evolution Summit in Madrid. He has been widely quoted in the media, including Total Telecom, the International Herald Tribune, and Silicon.com, and has given interviews to BBC Radio and Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP).

He holds a BA (Hons) from the Open University, with a specialization in politics, economics, history and technology. He also earned a BTEC HNC in Business & Finance from London South Bank University. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (ACIL).
