CMS Watch announced the appointment of Alan Pelz-Sharpe as Principal. Mr. Pelz-Sharpe, an expert on content technologies, has built a distinguished career with Wipro Technologies, Ovum, and Andersen Consulting, and as an independent consultant. At CMS Watch, he will evaluate enterprise content, document and records management products and suites, and cover portals. He will help clients develop ECM strategies.

Prior to joining Wipro, he spent six years with Ovum, the largest industry analyst firm in Europe, serving for three years as Vice President and Research Director for the North America region. Prior to joining Ovum, Mr. Pelz-Sharpe worked with Andersen Consulting, and prior to that as an independent consultant for more than 10 years, specializing in document and records management, workflow and related business process, engineering.

Mr. Pelz-Sharpe has published numerous papers and articles and is the co-author of the book "Web Content Management: Strategies, Technologies and Markets" (published in 2000).
