Tom Koulopoulos, author, futurist and founder of Delphi Group, has released an e-book entitled "Living in The Cloud." In it, he asserts that the cloud is the first megatrend of the 21st century and explores how The Cloud will change every aspect of our lives, from how we work to how we play. Free download.
The paper reflects his focus on innovation. In it, he advises against equating Cloud with the Internet or any specific technology. Koulopoulos writes, "The Cloud represents the consummate disruptor to structure; a pervasive social and economic network that will soon connect and define more of the world than any other political, social, or economic organization."
He goes on to posit, "In its simplest terms The Cloud is the new context for business and society. The Cloud is at the same time the enabler of terrorism as well as its antidote. The Cloud is the underlying driver of the destabilizing shift in power from the industrialized world to the developing world and also the mechanism by which the entire world will develop a new equilibrium over the next 50 years."
In addition to the white paper, Koulopoulos' blog offers a Q&A on "The Cloud."
