TheInfoPro, an independent research company for the IT industry, today announced the appointment of Ivan Ruzic as its chief executive officer. Ken Male, founder and former CEO, has stepped up to the role of Executive Vice Chairman.
Ruzic, an IT industry veteran with extensive global experience, will lead all key facets of TheInfoPro’s global research business and accelerate the company’s go-to-market strategy, including the expansion of new research sectors such as cloud computing, virtualization, procurement and organizational dynamics for IT staffing.
“TheInfoPro is on an aggressive timeline to expand its research network of IT decision-makers and increase the types of data we can provide our vendor clients, the investor community and IT end users,” said Ryan Ziegler, of New Jersey venture capital firm Edison Venture Fund and TheInfoPro’s board chairman. “Ivan brings a high-level of operations experience in addition to being a successful global sales and marketing leader for public U.S. corporations as well as small to start-up size businesses. These skills will be critical to our company’s longer-term growth.”
Ruzic will now be at the helm of a large network of IT decision-makers from over 800 U.S. Fortune 1000 and midsize enterprises and organizations. The network represents more than $24 billion in annual IT infrastructure spending. TheInfoPro leverages this network to offer highly customizable market data in the sectors of networking, storage, servers and information security.
Prior to joining TheInfoPro, Ruzic was the CEO of Exclaim, a leader in user-generated content, socialization and infotainment community applications for mobile consumers. Ruzic has also held key executive positions at several IT companies, including Borland International, BEA Systems and Novell.
“TheInfoPro’s data and research products provide valuable insights to the IT community, including trends not even on the mainstream radar,” said Ruzic. “Our market intelligence was consistent with the market bottoming in late 2008 and I am cautiously optimistic about prospects for the IT industry in 2010. My priority is to expand TheInfoPro’s capabilities to ensure we’re an invaluable part of the IT decision-making process.”
Ken Male will work with Ivan to spearhead the company’s business development initiatives into new intelligence products, geographies and channels. Male will also continue to focus on expanding TheInfoPro to represent the Global 2000 and work closely with institutional investors to help them make intelligent, data-supported ratings of IT companies.
“As we move into the next year, executives will be forced to make concise IT decisions to support their corporate mandates, and leveraging our peer base is a critical component of their technology and vendor selection process,” said Ken Male, executive vice chairman for TheInfoPro. “Our management team now represents the best in IT research and corporate operations expanding TheInfoPro’s optimal platform for the Global 2000 to make informed IT strategies.”
Originally a native of Australia, Ruzic holds a B.Sc., with majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry, a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and a Science Ph.D. from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Earlier in his career, he was also a marketing professor at the David Syme School of Business in Melbourne.
