Pacific Media Associates (PMA), market information experts on front projectors, today announced that Ms. Hye-Jin Kim has joined PMA as Research Manager covering Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) and Korea.

PMA’s research team now has projector-savvy, native-speaking members living in all of the key markets across the globe, and their total research team devoted to front projectors is larger than that of all of their competitors combined.

 

“For the last several years PMA had been seeking to add a Mandarin-speaking person to the PMA team, so that we could cover front projector manufacturing and distribution activities in Greater China,” said PMA’s president, Dr. William Coggshall. “Our just-published 2009Q3 census shows that the Mainland China market continues to grow rapidly, and unit shipments will likely soon surpass those in the United States. In addition, with the emergence of the New Era (sub-500 lumen) category, this part of the world is assuming an even greater importance as a supplier of projectors and components. Ms. Kim’s prior experience in projector market information in Asia, combined with her geographic location and language skills, brings an important strength to the PMA research team.”

Ms. Kim’s most recent position was at IDC, where she specialized in front projectors, LCD monitors, and LCD TVs. In addition to her education in Taiwan, she holds an Mphil from UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology) in England. Ms. Kim is actually Korean by birth, so brings the added benefit of being a native speaker and will not only cover Greater China but also Korea.
