Pacific Media Associates (PMA), market information experts on front projectors, has hired Lynn Ritter as Senior Research Associate. Ms. Ritter is a industry veteran whose career spans Garter Dataquest and Staffing Industry Analysts.

"The front projection industry is starting to experience a critical transformation. Part of that transformation has been caused by the recent economic climate, which has exacerbated the challenges already posed by the slowdown in growth as the market becomes increasingly saturated," said PMA's president, Dr. William Coggshall. "At the same time," added Coggshall, "we have recently seen two other phenomena typical of a maturing market: substantially greater attention to the high and low ends of the market (in this case defined mostly by brightness) and significantly increased 'splintering' of both products and markets into increasingly narrow and specialized segments. This recent introduction of new technologies and features, as well as the emergence of some new buyer types and applications, is leading PMA to both broaden and deepen their coverage of front projectors and closely-related categories. Ms. Ritter has a proven track record of covering both mature and high-growth industries, and we look forward to her bringing those expert skills to the front projection industry."

During her career, Ms. Ritter spent 27 years at Gartner Dataquest, eventually rising to head the copier group. Her first project at Gartner Dataquest was a Delphi survey of what ultimately became the laser printer business. While at Gartner Dataquest, she also founded and wrote a copier industry newsletter, co-authored a book on the toner industry, and served as chief editor for a bi-weekly newsletter on the copier, printer, and fax industries. Ms. Ritter then worked as a lead analyst and writer in the IT staffing space at Staffing Industry Analysts, a specialized research firm covering the contingent workforce (temporary staffing industry). More recently, she had returned to teaching special education and ESL in local school districts.

Ms. Ritter holds a bachelor's degree in French from the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She also holds a secondary teaching credential from Berkeley.
