Software vendors invited to participate in IDC Innovative Top 10 survey

IDC is inviting independent software vendors to participate in its debut "Innovative Top 10" ranking for the applications, application development and deployment, and information access markets. These rankings, to be published by IDC, will examine how small and medium vendors are leveraging innovative business models around key trends to survive and thrive in a time of economic uncertainty.

"Senior IDC software analysts have determined a set of key trends shaping the applications, application deployment and deployment, and information access markets, and we are now asking vendors in those areas to share with us the ways in which they are capitalizing on these developments," stated Henry Morris, senior vice president, Software and Services Research at IDC. "This is an opportunity to highlight companies that are finding new and inventive ways to adjust their business models based on economic challenges and shifts in buying patterns."

IDC plans to release a ranking of the "Innovative Top 10" companies that exemplify trend innovation for each of the three market areas. IDC will also publish a series of documents that expand on the rankings.

The judging methodology will be a two step process, including an initial review by a group of analysts in the related technology market area followed by a final review by an IDC executive panel.

Each of the three market areas has its own qualifying criteria and top trends. Software vendors can learn more about the study criteria and access the survey at the link below.
