Batara Siagian joins the Asia/Pacific team as a research manager responsible for analyzing the role of technology and operations in the financial services industry. This broad mandate covers all implementations of hardware, software and related services in banks, insurance companies, and equities firms. Mr. Siagian focuses on the insurance sector where he also covers analysis and interpretation of IT spending trends in the Asia/Pacific region, as well as understanding other structural changes in the Asia/Pacific financial services markets. Batara has held several positions with Telstra and HP in the fields of consulting, business development, and market research.
Angeline Lee also recently joined the Asia/Pacific team. Based in Hong Kong, she is a market analyst tasked with conducting independent research and consulting for the Asia/Pacific Banking, Capital Markets and IT Benchmarking practices. Prior to joining Financial Insights, Ms. Lee was a sales executive for an Asia/Pacific financial-services, news and media company. She covered the global markets within the sell-side investment banks as well as the hedge funds in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining RGE Monitor, Douglas Jaffe was the Asia Pacific Research Director at Financial Insights. He has spent more than 13 years in Asia in various capacities. He helped IDC build its financial services practice in the region prior to the formation of Financial Insights in 2003. His expertise spans a number of operational areas across retail and corporate banking, including channel strategies, payments, trade services, financial systems and outsourcing.
