Mr. Lewis will function as one of IDC's leading representatives for the worldwide telecommunications and networking industry, while acting as a strategic advisor to IDC's overall activities in this area. His geographic focus spans Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific/Japan.

"His extensive and long-term expertise and deep understanding of this business will further enhance IDC's competitiveness in this area."
Mr. Lewis will return to IDC with more than 24 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, having worked across the full spectrum of telecoms equipment and services, including consumer, enterprise networking and carrier services, as well as IT and applications issues. Most recently, he held leadership positions at Ovum, a Datamonitor company. He was Senior Vice President, Telecoms Research and earlier, served as Enterprise Practice Leader. His analysis and opinions are widely sought by industry leaders and investors while his comments on industry trends and developments frequently appear in the leading business and trade publications.
IDC describes MR. Lewis' appointment as part of an overall strengthening of its worldwide telecommunications and networking business.
