The mobile devices research service covers global mobile device market forecasts and trends, device platforms, related OS and software market analysis, enabling components, Intellectual Property and royalties, semiconductor applications, and advanced mobile device applications, including mobile video, GPS, Bluetooth, LBS, Wi-Fi, messaging, mobile imaging, mobile games, and music phones.
Mobile device platforms include handsets, smartphones, PDAs, cellular PC datacards, and M2M modules.

Kevin Burden brings to his new role a wealth of experience in mobile devices research. Prior to his stint at Nielsen Mobile (formerly Telephia), he spent seven years at IDC, most recently as Program Manager, Mobile and Wireless Market. He and his team of US-based analysts focused on mobile devices and enterprise mobility. He also spent about a decade at IDG trade publication Computerworld, where he held several key writing and reporting positions.
Burden has been quoted in some of the world’s major business and technology publications including The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Time, Forbes, the Boston Globe, Investor’s Business Daily, and more. He has spoken at many of the most important industry events such as CES, CTIA, and the Smartphone Summit. He holds a BA in Economics from Framingham College.
