Barry Murphy Departs Forrester Research for Mimosa Systems

Mimosa Systems today announced that Barry Murphy, a widely known industry analyst specializing in archiving, eDiscovery and records management, has joined the company as director of product marketing.

In his new position, Murphy will be responsible for expanding Mimosa System's eDiscovery and content management partner ecosystem and broadening awareness for and adoption of Mimosa Systems’ award-winning content archiving platform. The Mimosa Systems platform features comprehensive eDiscovery, compliance, and disaster recovery capabilities.

“For the past ten years, I have been educating global enterprises on the value of comprehensive content archiving solutions and have unfortunately watched company after company fail to implement compliant data retention and preservation strategies, resulting in financial penalties and negative brand perception,” said Murphy. “Mimosa Systems is one company that has focused on Live Content Archiving from the beginning with continued innovations to address the pressing industry challenges of business continuity, electronic discovery, proactive litigation defense and information search. Teaming with such a leader whose mission is in line with my vision of content archiving provides the opportunity to execute on that vision and address enterprise concerns with best-of-breed solutions.”

Prior to his career at Forrester Research, Murphy was an analyst with the Delphi Group (now "Innovation Lab" of Perot Systems), where he covered content management, business process management and Web services. While at Delphi Group, Murphy led many consulting engagements for Fortune 500 end users, focusing on how to best use technology to solve business problems. Prior to Delphi Group, he was a management consultant at the boutique eBusiness strategy consulting firm eMaven. He began his career in advertising with the DDB Needham agency (now DDB Worldwide).

Murphy has been a regular presenter at key industry events including the Forrester IT Forum, AIIM Conference and Expo, ARMA Conference and LegalTech. He received his B.S. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Mimosa is based in Santa Clara, California with offices in Munich, Germany and Pune, India with an executive team from CA/Cheyenne, Brocade, Veritas and Zantaz that have been responsible for some of the leading storage and e-mail solutions in the market. Mimosa has a strong partnership with Microsoft Corporation.
