Heather Dougherty Named Director of Research for Hitwise

Hitwise announced that veteran online analyst Heather Dougherty has joined the company as director of research. Ms. Dougherty is a leading authority for the online retail industry with more than 10 years of research and online analyst experience. She joins Hitwise from Nielsen Online.

"Heather is a well known and respected figure within the online industry," said Bill Tancer, general manager of global research at Hitwise. "Her retail experience, coupled with a solid understanding of the online market, is a tremendous asset for our business."

At Nielsen Online, Ms. Dougherty served as the senior retail analyst providing strategic analysis on the industry and publishing research projects. Earlier, she spent four years with Jupiter Research covering the online retail and commerce space, including marketing and promotions, merchandising, and personalization.

Heather Dougherty holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from The Ohio State University. She speaks frequently at industry events such as Shop.org, Internet Retailer, Ad:tech and Search Engine Strategies.
